I'm Elsa, a qualified and experienced translator, interpreter and language trainer based in Carcassonne, France. I specialize in providing human language services from English into French, my native language.

A French Native

Born and raised in France, I now live in the south of the country. I have to say, my vocabulary has greatly expanded, thanks to the local idioms around here!

Bilingual Expertise

I've worked two years in the North East of England, and English has been part of my daily life for over ten years now. While I still can’t quite master the Geordie accent, I can certainly throw in a “Me’l wa’a bo’l’.” Wey aye, man!

Ireland holds a special place in my heart — this emerald jewel in the sea, whose stunning natural beauty has captivated me ever since we first met 10 years ago. I returned this year with a renewed sense of wonder and now find myself adding "wee" to everything: “Let’s get a wee treat ” or “Let’s go on a wee holiday.”

Curiosity is what drives me, both professionally and personally. Every project, course and new challenge is an opportunity to deepen my knowledge and develop new skills. I regularly build on my expertise in specialised translation, language teaching and the professional tools that support my activities, allowing me to continuously refine my approach and deliver the best possible service to my clients.

When I'm not working, you'll probably find me learning something completely different—currently mechanics (grease-stained hands don't scare me one bit!), dressmaking, or Chinese. Because for me, learning is a lifelong adventure.

A Qualified Professional in SME Management

I hold a diploma in SME management and sustainability, and I worked for two years in the industrial and paramedical sectors, which sparked my interest in home automation and assistive technologies for people with conditions such as multiple sclerosis, ALS, and muscular dystrophy.

Through my diverse professional experiences, I’ve discovered a real passion for training and teaching. In my very first job as a supermarket cashier, I was often entrusted with training new hires. I loved passing along tips and fun anecdotes (trust me, a lot happens at the checkout) to make things easier for the new employees.

Experienced and Qualified Translator and Trainer

I’ve been dedicated to language teaching for seven years, and I’ve never really left this fascinating field. My main focus is on teaching business English and technical English to adult learners, ensuring the content aligns with their industries.

My career as a translator and interpreter began in the North East of England, where I primarily worked with French-speaking refugees, helping them navigate medical and social services, whether in hospitals or through organizations like Freedom from Torture for survivors of abuse. My translation projects mainly focused on corporate communication and child protection services.

My expertise has since broadened to Corporate Communication, Education and Training, Assistive Tech and Living, Hospitality and Tourism.

I strive to produce high-quality translations that maintain the integrity of the original text, avoid any confusion, and are pleasant to read. Every translation is crafted by me, that is a real person!
